Paul Voogt will present his research on the modeled skulls from Papua New Guinea in the collection of the Missiemuseum, discussing the historical context of the collection and the questions it raises today. This intersects with Dicky Takndare's work of art, currently on display, that reflects on this collection.
Dicky Takndare will share his multidisciplinary practice, which advocates for racial justice, indigenous rights, and the reexamination of history through painting, drawing, carving, installation, and community engagement.
Timoteus Anggawan Kusno will present his work as an artist, researcher, and filmmaker. His multidisciplinary practice examines the intersections of fiction and history, imagination and memory, and the legacies of colonialism, through installations, drawings, moving images, and institutional projects.
Together, these presentations offer compelling perspectives on how art and research can deepen our understanding of history, identity, and culture.
