Discover the fascinating world of taxidermy during this unique exhibition featuring the entries from the Dutch Taxidermy Championship 2026.

A veritable menagerie will take over the Missiemuseum over the coming months! Entries from Dutch and Belgian taxidermists will be showcased as part of the Dutch Taxidermy Championship 2026. These marvellous specimens will be judged in their various categories by a panel of experts and awarded (master) points. These pieces showcase not only the beauty of the animal kingdom, but also the technical skills and creativity of the taxidermist themselves. The historical display at the Mission Museum features many animals and, as part of this exhibition, will also offer a glimpse into the art of taxidermy from its own past. Various SVD brothers were skilled in taxidermy techniques, including the Mission Museum’s first curator, Brother Berchmans.

‘Perfectly Taxidermied!’ is for anyone who wishes to gain an insight into the taxidermy history of the Mission Museum and marvel at the preserved specimens taking part in the 2026 Dutch Taxidermy Championship. The exhibition has been organised in collaboration with the Dutch Association of Taxidermists.
 

On Saturday 11 April, this exhibition will be closed to the public due to the Members’ Day of the Dutch Association of Taxidermists.

The Mission Museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm
