Oscar Ekkelboom is a researcher and curator working from COPI—Curatorial Office for Peripheral Improvisations. Inspired by the collective creative power of jazz, his projects arise as joint improvisations, without a centre, where individual voices give meaning to the collective as a whole. His interventions always start from two fundamental questions: why are things exhibited and why in this way? In a provocative manner, he invites visitors and institutions to jointly explore the ideas and assumptions behind heritage presentations, public monuments, and art exhibitions.
